Welcome to Ratdragon, home of alternative music fans Rat and Dragon. We started accessing all music online in 2004 - thus the creation of the monthly playlists...

Monthly Playlists (The "33")
Every month tracks are selected from choice albums and artists as well as Triple J (ABC Australia). Until some time in 2011 we used Blalock's Indie/Rock Playlist, took a break, and got back on it again in 2013. Previously... until Feb 2010 we used Shankly's Mix Tapes; and before that until Feb 2009, the mixes relied heavily on the prolific 'Indie/Rock Playlist', now finished. In 2016 we started taking from a number of sources, including the Indie Shuffle.

The playlist is made up of exactly 33 songs every month. Dragon thought this may have had some connection to when Rat turned 33 all those years ago (when the playlists first started), but actually it just happened to be the number of tracks that Rat could view on his laptop without having to scroll down.
